Position Summary

CT Mechanical is currently looking for HVAC Sheet Metal/ Duct Board Journeymen with integrity who take pride in their work, can create solutions as well as safely perform duct work installations within the framework of the commercial construction industry. For immediate work.

Long Term Employment: Opportunity for the right candidate! Ability to cross train and learn other disciplines of the HVAC field.

Work Hours (Approximate)

7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Some overtime, evenings, weekends and light travel as needed.

Pay Scale

$20.00 – $25. 00 / hour

Responsibilities:

• Determine layout of systems and read blueprints
• Run square and spiral duct from layouts
• Set hangers for metal strapping duct and set curbs
• Install VAV boxes and perform light fabrication
• Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates
• Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
• Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
• Cut materials using power tools or by hand
• Fabricate, assemble, erect, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety
• High standard of integrity and professionalism

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• OSHA 10 preferred
• Ability to lift more than 50 pounds
• Ability to work an 8 hour shift outdoors
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle and maintain a current driver’s license in order to commute to the various current or prospective job sites.
• Strong work ethic
• Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of Sheet Metal and duct board experience working on commercial or industrial job sites.
